The proximity sensor is the device on the phone that senses light and shuts off when it is covered. On the top of your iPhone 7 plus there is a see though part on the glass towards the top with a bluish purple tint to it that senses light so when you put the phone next to your ear it blocks the light and shuts the screen off so your face does not press buttons when you are in the middle of a phone call. If your screen no longer shuts off when you put the phone to your face it is because the proximity sensor has gone bad and we can replace the proximity sensor within 30 minutes while you wait in the store.
